In 1963 legendary firearms designer Eugene Stoner developed the Stoner, a modular weapons system. Here are just some of the weapons that they bought to bare upon their adversaries during the conflict. The SEALs became famous for their effectiveness and the firepower that they used against the Vietcong and North Vietnamese army during their time ‘in country’. SEAL teams 1 and 2 undertook various combat operations in Vietnam from 1965 until America’s withdrawal of almost all of their ground forces from the war in 1973. SEAL members first entered the country in 1962, but as the United States involvement in the country swelled in 1965 after the Gulf of Tonkin incident the number of SEALs sent into the country increased. America’s now famous Navy SEALs cut their teeth in the jungles and riverbanks of South East Asia during the Vietnam War. ![]()
